dirty martinis

Yesterday went out with my ex-manager. A crazy russsian party girl! She has had some troubles in her life recently, so we talked for ages. We went to a place called "dirty martini" and had like 5 cocktails in 1h30m. It was happy hour, you see, haha. I got quite tipsy. Afterwards, I still met with my bf and my friend who came from Japan just for a few days on work. So busy life. Today I am working the whole day T_T but tomorrow I am off! So, this was just a quick post. See you!

midsummer night

Yesterday it was the hottest day of the year, 31C. I think I almost suffocated on the tube -_-;
no air circulation + 40C underground = me diesss

So after a busy day at work, I went to my French lesson (yes, I am learning French, already on the 3rd week), sweat sweat sweat on the way home and finally got back, desperatly wanting to shower! I could have killed for a swiming pool too. But no, my bf wanted to enjoy the summer night, so off we went to a pizza place that has nice outside tables. It is very hard to find places in London with outside tables, I think I mentioned before. I didn't have much of an apetite by then, feeling so sticky and all, ended up just having a salada tricolore and a bloody mary. My bf had the huge 4 seasons pizza plus two pints of beer. As you can see by the pictures, I was feeling very... hum, dull? I'm not used to this hot weather anymore, after living 3 years in London I got used to cold and rain and grey sky. I just really wanted to have a shower! hahaha but my bf was really enjoying the night, so what could one do? oh, well...

Today the weather went back to rain + cold + thunders + rain... The usual!

Finally Summer arrived to London!! We had the most weird two weeks of rain, but today it was 27C, sooooo sunny and hot for this city, hahaha :)

I could also finally use the new wedges I've been dying to wear, but couldn't due to annoying rain. I bought them at breadandbutter @ Asos marketplace. They are very confy despite the 10cm high heel. I never wear high heels. Never. The few times I attempted such adventures, I ended up argueing with my bf because I couldn't walk anymore, or even stand for the matter, and had to rush back home, not being able to enjoy the day/night properly. Every time I am tempted to get some heels my bf warns me that I will regret it and probably wear them only once... It's so sad! Because I really like some shoes but can't wear them! I am ok with up to 3cm heels though. LOL but these wedges are quite confortable, they don't make my feet ache or anything of the sort. Just I need to get used to walking in such a high platform XD BUT I LOVE THEM! They are exactly what I was looking for in sandals, so I am quite happy with my choice!

Yesterday we were up until god knows when, and only slept about 6 hours (which is my daily average anyways), because Kimi (my bf) was DJing. When we woke we were starving and went straight to the nearest cheapest chinese restaurant, which is like 5 minutes from my house, haha. After some nice prawns with blackbean sauce, we desperatly searched for an open cafe with a nice shadow. Everyone just goes to the park and work on a tan. I didn't want to stand in the sun and get a tan. I am working on maintaining my skin as white as possible. Only because that's the way I like it. But we couldn't find any nice place. To be honest, London doesn't have any Summer culture, the season lasts 2 weeks in here, so you must understand. Almost giving up, I saw a pub that seemed to have a beer garden, and we deciced to have a look. Actually, the place was very empty and the only costumers there were old, like 50 years old up, the beer garden was also very empty and they had tables with a shadow, so it was perfect! And guess what, the pub is only 2 minutes away from my house! haha

I had a nice and cold tomato juice with worcestershire sauce, Kimi had a pear cider. It was so relaxing to enjoy the afternoon there, a gentle breeze passing sometimes. We tried to read something, but soon started to feel sleepy... Then, we came home and passed out for 3 hours!! But it felt so good to take a nap in such a warm day. We felt like babies, haha ;)

I enjoyed my first day of summer so very much!

And here I am posting once more about the said concert! But I just got the pics and I had to share. Ah, I have so many nice memories from that day! It was really amazing to see so much fandom for this group. My heart was with all the girls who waited long hours outside to be able to see these boys come outside the studio. You must truly be devoted to stand something like that, with rain and adverse weather conditions.

I am very glad I was lucky enough to be given the chance to see these lovely boys perform. It was a once in a lifetime experience, I believe. And I really enjoyed it!

Million thanks to Sayaka Kishi , who made it possible for me :) all the above photos were stolen from her blog!

Jane Fonda is one of my favorite icons. I fell in love with her after watching Barbarella, long time ago. The first 5 min of the film are just jaw dropping, so freaking sexy! While not exactly the stereotype of beauty, Jane Fonda is extremely sexy. I think if I ever had to choose someone from all history who had the most perfect body, I would say Jane Fonda. Honestly. Now do yourself a favor and go watch Barbarella again, it is so worth it!

concert day

(Topshop cardi, tshirt, tights / Minkpink shorts / Dr Martens boots)

So yesterday I went to the SHINee's concert here in London. I was soooooo surprised by the amount of girls outside the studios! They were also so energetic always screaming for shinee, holding up posters and stuff they had made. It was truly amazing, I had no idea they had so many fans in the UK.

A couple of girls who won tickets to the concert where actually from the north of the UK!! And they came all the way to London just to see SHINee. Can you believe it?!
The audience wasn't very big. There were some Japanese fans who won tickets and came all the way from Japan to see the band. I think in total, fans who won tickets, were about 20. The rest were all japanese and korean press, wearing suits and everything.

Then the show started and the 4 boys came on stage. Wait, four?! Where's the 5th one, right? Apparently he was sick with high fever and could not perform. He also just happened to be my favorite, what a luck... poor guy. Such an unique event for an oriental boyband in London and he gets sick... I felt much more sorry for Taemin actually, because he had to deal with singing all the other guy's parts. Poor Taemin, he looked so nervous. He got the micro tangled up inside his vest while dancing the first or second song, can't remember anymore. And then when Minho passed him a cup of water later on, Taemin's hands were shaking so much as he grabbed it and passed it to the next guy (yes, they shared all the same plastic cup... lol). I really felt for him. The other guys looked a bit nervous, but nothing big when compared to Taemin.

The show was nice, the stage was quite small, so we could see them REALLY close. I got really excited after it started! And I was bouncing around and clapping and trying to sing in korean (which I fail at, but I guess no one could hear me, hahaha). It was really nice. Since we were such a small audience I thought we would be able to even touch them, just handshake or something, but no. T^T

The band members were cute, in a "you are younger than me" kind of cute. They played 5 or 6 songs in total. And surprise! For the last one, their Japanese debut single "replay", Jonghyun (the sick one) came on stage to sing! YAY! I was really happy. He didn't look very good, but he sang wonderfully! I wish he had performed the whole show... He is definitely the best voice in the group. I really liked that last song, their Japanese was cute, they need to work on it, haha. Then the show was over. It was so quick, I wanted more! But the poor boys were sweating like crazy from all the dancing, they did their best. At the exit we were given a badge which was actually a playbutton with their "replay" song! Nice surprise!

Unfortunetely we were not allowed to tak pictures inside...

K-pop concert

Just a quick update to inform that I shall be going to SHINee's concert tomorrow!

Apparently it is an exclusive concert mainly to the press and some lucky fans who won a couple of tickets, in honor of their Japanese debut. A friend of mine, who works for Elle girl Japan, got tickets and invited me to go with her. I was really excited, because the live will be at the Abbey Road Studios, in quite a small stage, so I will be able to see them really close, hahaha

Ok, while not the biggest fan, I am seriously excited by seeing a K-pop band live for the very first time! It will be a great experience for someone like me, who's an oldschool kpop fan. Besides, I am sure the boys have serious entertaining dance moves XD

I've been listening to their songs all week long!! My colleagues were going crazy with all the "ring ding dong" going around, LOL.

I've been quite busy suddenly, and still have so many things to blog about and so little time :(
Hopefully I will have some time tomorrow evening to write about the concert and post some pictures (if I can snap some with my iPhone =P)

I happen to come across this edition of Numéro back in January and fell completly in love with this editorial, so much so that I kept the magazine (it was from a fellow colleague) *_*
Yesterday I found it again in the middle of my Japanese magazines and fell in love all over again with this shoot. I don't know why, if it's the setting, the model, the clothes and styling, I don't know, but I like so much that I ripped it from the magazine and put the pages up on my wall. LOL
I find the picture with the cigarette and the last one especially inspiring. So now every time I need a little inspiration I just need to glance up from my desk and look at this images, hehe.

Expect more Greg Kadel in the future.
