Photography: May in Japan part.2

This part ends my staying in Tokyo, the following parts will be from Osaka and Kobe. I forgot to mention in the last post what film I’ve used for these. Fuji Color is generally my favourite choice, I like the soft colours and light it produces. In the previous part, I used an expired Fuji Color 100. However, in this part I’ve used an expired Solaris Ferrania, and you can see how the colours pop out, it’s much more vibrant than the Fuji Color. The last two shots were taken from the Park Hyatt Hotel, the same one where they filmed the Lost in Translation bar scene. Pardon my scanner, I know it is rubbish but I really don't need a new one just to scan photos...

Photography: Japan in May part.1

I have not shared photos of my last trip to Japan yet, and well, I might as well do it now. Why not? So, last May I visited Japan for the 3rd time, and it felt so natural and normal, like going back home. I still remembered all the routes and little streets, what trains to get and the right exits of the stations. The weather was lovely, sunny and warm. We first visited my bf’s grandparents house, which is this big old style Japanese house in the country side. It was so quiet there. We had walks at night and, although street lights were almost non-existent in the island, the moonlight only was enough to lit our way. It felt really peaceful.
I then made my way to big Tokyo, where I stayed with friends, went to gigs, ate a lot and spent a lot of money! Living the crazy life. I have a few more shots of Tokyo and the rest is Osaka and Kobe, which I will post some other time.
I basically only used my vintage Konica C35 during the trip and I was so glad with the results. I love shooting with film and this camera is my favourite and probably the cheapest (out of the 5 vintage film cameras I own, haha), it never lets me down and I get results even with the worst light or focus. It is light and compact, so I can carry it in my pocket, if I feel like it. I did not retouch these photos at all, except to add the watermark and round the corners, no need for any other touches, that is the beauty of film photography!

BATH POWDERS

Unfortunately, all the makeup, except eye ones, make my skin breakout D: At least now I know and won't buy any can Canmake or Candy Doll face products... And I remember while in Loft I was so close to purchase a candy doll foundation, thank god I did not! The Anna Sui perfume was love at first sight, when I got to the shop I had no intention of getting anything, but then I just couldn't resist.

Clothes wise, it doesn't seem as much as it did at the time. But they were expensive -_-; Except Momo's ones, those are pretty cheap. I would have got more if Emoda actually had my jeans size (it was sold out everywhere)!! I know I forgot to take picture of some little bits, like tote bags and WC underwear, but I don't think it makes much difference.

Bath powders were heavy!! Very heavy! But I think this stock + the ones I already owned will last me more than 6 months (hopes). I think I spent at least 7000 yen only on bath powders...

I also bought quite a few LP's and EP's, which I didn't take pictures of. I know I haven't really blogged about the fact yet, but I'm a DJ of japanese 60's, 70's and 80's pop and rock n roll, so I was soooooo excited to find records I've been looking for for only 100 yen. But then I also payed 1500 for one EP only, so it wasn't all cheap buys either.

Sakura views

Sakura was the main reason for me going in April. It was my first time seeing so many like this, it was so cute, pink everywhere. Especially cute when they started to fall down, covering the parks and roads in soft pink.

shopping in Tokyo

Shopping was something I did a lot in Tokyo.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to take pictures inside the department stores...

One of my personal favorites is Lumine Est. A much better option, since 109 is so busy at all times, even when the rest of Shibuya is empty... Lumine Est has the advantage of having all the brands I care about (emoda, murua, dazzlin, wc) plus it was never busy whenever I went there. I was so disappointed to find out there is no Murua in 109, I had no idea ^_^;

Takeshita Dori is another favorite, maybe because it is full of street shops, made me feel really welcome and I thought all the shop staff were really nice. There was one Liz Lisa shop assistant who could speak a bit of English and we chatted whenever I passed by. She was super nice and friendly! And cute! You can see her picture somewhere bellow.
