Review: Kate Real Create Eyes BR-2

Brand: Kate
Product: BR-2
Would I repurchase: Yes

As you can see by the pictures, I do use this quite a bit. It is my to go to “japanese makeup” eyeshadow. It is lovely. The colours glow, not the glittery type, so it is perfect for a day/office look. Nothing innovative about the colours, I always stick to golds and browns. I like it and would buy more if in Japan.

Brand: Canmake
Product: Cream Cheek 13 (Love Peach)
Features: With natural emollients that prevent skin from drying out while nourishing and conditioning
Would I repurchase: Yes

This is a baby pink melting gel-type formulation blush that dries once you apply it on the skin. The colour is lovely, perfect for a natural look or buildable for a sweet look. I like to wear it on “no make-up” days for a touch of colour. I do use it often, I’m reaching pan! On me it lasts a whole working day. It's an innocent and sweet blush, I would repurchase if in Japan again as it is so cheap there, but I would not pay the price online shops are charging (£10? this stuff is tiny!). I want to get one of the clear versions for a natural glow.

Brand: Canmake
Product: Loose Cheek in 08 (Squash)
Features: Contains large pearl particles that twinkle brightly and silicone powder for a smooth texture
Would I repurchase: Yes
At first I thought this would be a messy blusher. I mean loose powder with glitter? I could see myself getting glitter all over my face and inside my eyes. However! This turned out to be a really sweet blush. The pink is just right, not too flashy, not too bland, it looks quite natural. Also easily adjustable if you want it stronger or softer. The pearl particles do cling to the skin and not spread around, giving a very sweet glow. I must say, I’ve got this 1 year ago and use it every other day, but there is still plenty left in the pot, a little goes a long way with this one. And with all that glitter, less is more, believe me. And the puff applicator actually works because it’s like applying loose powder, so it blends very easily. I’m usually discouraged to buy from Canmake because it is such a cheap brand in Japan and I feel unsure of the quality, also I’ve been unimpressed in the past with some of their products, but I liked this blush. I’m thinking about buying the Baby Pink shade next time.

Product: Puff de Cheek in PK301 (Peach Macaroon)
Features: Contains Macadamia Nut Oil to treat and nourish skin, making it soft and smooth
Size: 7grams

My second review on these blushes and still not impressed! Look at how vibrant the colour looks on the puff. Now look at the swatch. I mean, can you even see the swatch on my arm? I could in real life, but I tried a zillion times to photograph this and it’s just barely noticeable, this says a lot when you think of wearing it to a place where you know your picture will be taken. I mean, if you cannot see any effect what is the point of putting it on… Anyways, I feel this could probably work better on VERY pale skin. On my cheeks, and I’m not tanned by any means, looks like a patch I did not put foundation on. Eeek! I must admit I bought it based on the code PK301 which is used for light pink colours, had I known it’s name was Peach Macaroon I would have not bought it. Me and peachy tones just do not work well together, I know they’ll look too bland on me. I’ve had this for over a year, so I had a chance to give it a go more than a few times, but still a no no to me.

Majolica Majorca is a very well established brand in Japan, it belongs to Shiseido and it’s target is the younger crowd. Their products are always cute and fun looking, like sweets! Take this blush for example, it’s macaroon appearance makes me want to have a bite, haha. I’ve had this product for at least 1 year, so I feel confident in reviewing it now.
The idea is fun and cute, but to be honest, that is the most exciting quality of this blush. I’ve seen very positive reviews out there on this, but it is just an orange blush. The puff idea does not work for me, unless I would want to end up with 2 orange circles on my cheeks and look like a ragdoll for the rest of the day… To get a decent amount of product on the puff and see some colour on the skin I have to press the puff quite hard into the blush, I would then blend it in with a brush.
The appearance is a good selling point, but after using it for a while, I am not sold on this. Every summer I still go back to Majolica Majorca’s Cheek Colour in orange, but I can’t find it anywhere anymore and it is not on their official website, so I tend to believe this has sadly been discontinued. Funny enough, I could not find this Puff de Cheek on their website either, but you can still find in online shops.

Probably no surprise to someone who knows me, but I am a massive Masami Nagasawa fan. I follow everything she acts in and I go to great lengths to keep an updated file of magazine scans and such. I just love her to bits since about 6 or 7 years ago when I bought a magazine she was in. I secretly fell in love with her and the flame keeps burning in my heart ever since! Haha, I’m totally biased when it comes to her.

Anyways, I do freely admit that I wish I had been born her twin, because for me she’s the cutest thing on earth, a natural beauty. Nothing special really about her looks, it’s just a natural cuteness. Put her next to any actress and she will always look the cutest somehow. I do try to look similar to Masami on a daily basis, there, I said it. Finally I had the courage to admit it on my blog. Of course the fact that she is Japanese and I’m not even the slightest asian looking makes things difficult, but what can I say, love is blind and I keep trying.

This was one of those attempts at the cover of Maquia (2013 December issue). It is a very simple cute look. Masami has the most glorious flawless glowing skin ever! so I’ve used the Bourjois 123 Perfect collection to give me that healthy skin look and shimmering blush and highlighter for a soft glow, as masami usually wears very little to nothing on the cheeks. The eyebrows are the most difficult part because hers are so straight and mine more arched and thick, so I kept them soft. The eyes were super easy, the half baked shade on the eyelid, black pencil liner smudged with the smog shade and a thin liquid liner to finish with a very minimal almost non-existent wing. Add a natural mascara and a reddish tinted gloss at the end. Super simple cute look for going on a date or shopping, those occasions when you don’t want too much make up on your face but still enough to make you feel pretty.

And that’s it! Hope the scans are helpful to anyone who also enjoys Masami’s look.

mini 3 Concept Eyes makeup Haul

Yes, I followed the craze and got myself a few 3 Concept Eyes products. I purchased them at Yesstyle.
1. 3CE Skin Tone Control Primer
I got the # Ice Vanilla colour to correct my red undertones and make my foundation last longer. This did nothing for me. The texture is hard to blend, even with a foundation brush, and I don’t like the way it sits on the skin. It did not help even one bit to maintain my foundation in place. I would not recommend this product, it was a total waste of money. I have since found a much better primer than this at a 1/3 of the price that I might review later.
2. 3CE Liquid Foundation
Got mine in # Ivory Beige. I was dying to try this because I was craving the dewy healthy look. The foundation smells fruity, which I like, almost reminds me a hair conditioner I used to use. It is easy to blend and, although the colour range is very limited, this looks alright on me. It does not cover redness around my nose area, so a concealer must be used. If you have problem skin I doubt this would do anything for you. It gives a very nice dewy finish. I set it with loose powder, however by midday I can see my nose shine! Not a dewy healthy glow, but a oily shine! In the evening, by the time I get home from work, I cannot wait to wash this layer of oil out of my skin. I’ve tried this on different days with different weathers and different powders and primers, but the result is the same. Very disappointed…
3. 3CE Full Cover Concealer
Love this! I got mine in #002, it is a lighter than my skin tone, and I use it daily. It covers my quite purple-ish under eye circles and whatever blemishes I might have. Cannot go without it and would recommend it.
4. 3CE Face Glow
This is a nice alternative to get a dewy look with my regular foundation. I got it in the # Bondi Beach shade. Lovely golden toned, looks very natural when mixed with foundation prior to application, and used again as a highlighter after applying foundation for that extra gold. I don’t use it everyday, but it’s perfect for a party or a night out.

Hyped as it is, I don’t think I will purchase more products from this brand. The concealer was a really nice surprise and thank god for that, otherwise I would feel like a total loser for spending money on stuff I won’t even be able to use. It is an affordable brand nonetheless and if you got the ££s, go ahead and give it a go. If you are on tight budget, I would say skip it, it isn’t worth wall the craze.

Unfortunately, all the makeup, except eye ones, make my skin breakout D: At least now I know and won't buy any can Canmake or Candy Doll face products... And I remember while in Loft I was so close to purchase a candy doll foundation, thank god I did not! The Anna Sui perfume was love at first sight, when I got to the shop I had no intention of getting anything, but then I just couldn't resist.

Clothes wise, it doesn't seem as much as it did at the time. But they were expensive -_-; Except Momo's ones, those are pretty cheap. I would have got more if Emoda actually had my jeans size (it was sold out everywhere)!! I know I forgot to take picture of some little bits, like tote bags and WC underwear, but I don't think it makes much difference.

Bath powders were heavy!! Very heavy! But I think this stock + the ones I already owned will last me more than 6 months (hopes). I think I spent at least 7000 yen only on bath powders...

I also bought quite a few LP's and EP's, which I didn't take pictures of. I know I haven't really blogged about the fact yet, but I'm a DJ of japanese 60's, 70's and 80's pop and rock n roll, so I was soooooo excited to find records I've been looking for for only 100 yen. But then I also payed 1500 for one EP only, so it wasn't all cheap buys either.

Nozomi Sasaki

Good evening!

Recently I developed this little obsession for Sasaki Nozomi after watching the film "Tenshi no Koi" (aka "my rainy days").

She is absolutely stunning in this. I already knew her as a model for Pinky and now Non-no, but never gave her much credit for beauty. This was the first time I saw her acting and I thought she was good enough, definitely expecting to see more from her.

But what stunned me the most was how beautiful she is. And I am looking right now at the film's photobook and can't find a picture to express how amazing this girl is. I guess she's one of those who look better in motion. That would explain why I never paid much attention to her while reading pinky.

And her make up! Although quite natural, it's still there and looks so cute and pretty!! I want to try it sooooooo badly! So I searched and searched and found out what I believe to be an honest example of what she is wearing.

The first image is from the film's photobook, we can see lots of Anna Sui products and some MAC here and there. But that on its own would mean nothing, they could just have put the items there for the photo only, it didn't mean they actually used them. But I did notice that Anna Sui and MAC were 2 of the 3 credited brands in the film.

The other 2 scans are from Nozomi's photobook "Non"! Now here we are sure about the products ans shades, a real tutorial! Yay, haha. I don't care about the Giorgio Armani foundation, I'm very happy with my YSL one. For the eyes, it is very easy to find those shades of brown, so I will ignore the brands again and go with what I've got. Now it gets more interesting! Face she uses Tsubasa's loose powder, Nars blush (I have it!) and MAC contour (mineralize skin finish - natural medium deep, if you're wondering :P). The highlighter is Chanel, but I don't think I have ever seen it before... For the lips, candydoll lip concealer and Anna Sui's Sui lip gloss (#308). I was dying to know which lip gloss she wore in the film that made her lips look so pouty and cute, haha. I searched for reviews and it seems to be quite a nice one, with a rose scent and non sticky. I have to confess that I am always tempted to buy lip glosses and end up never using them, either cuz they are sticky or cuz they don't seem to look good with my skin tone (or make up) or cuz they are too shiny/glittery... But I have high hopes for this one, so I bought it (£16, quite expensive for a lip gloss, no?), it will be my first Anna Sui product!

I could keep posting Nozomi's pictures of her cuteness forever, haha.

On other news, it's getting really could again here in London... I'm so sick of this weather, the grey sky is making me so depressed. Everyday no sunshine... I wish for summer! A girl can only dream. So many brands are already full of new S/S season collection, I want to buy, i really do! But then it just sounds ridiculous when outside is 3ºC and I will only be able to wear the clothes in 4 months!! booo T_T

Oh, btw, Nozomi is also a bit of a role model, while being thin, she isn't totally skinny. She is almost same height as me, 168cm (I'm 169cm^^) and her weight is 50kg, hence her very nice curves ;) So I will think of her while trying to gain weight!!
