Love Lisbon. So much.
I get very sentimental about Lisbon.
And yes, we eat snails as well, but we don’t call them escargot.

Just returned from a relaxing holiday in Pisa, Italy. It was a much needed break from busy London and a bit of return to basics. The sun, the sea, the grass, the blue sky. Nothing else. We are very lucky to have friends in Pisa who received us with open arms in their beautiful-out-of-a-magazine-photo-shoot house. I now got a golden tan to show off and a dozen mosquito bites to heal.

I feel the happiest while travelling and hope we can visit Pisa again sometime, or other parts of Italy, one of my favourite places to visit. I am already planning my next holiday, the destination is still to be confirmed, haha. And I am yet to post pictures from my trip to Lisbon last June… So many holidays this year, happy happy!

Summer a la Parisienne style 40s & 50s

As the weather is gradually improving here in London, I turned to my favourite photography website, parisen images, for some real Parisian late 1940s early 1950s inspiration.

I have not shared photos of my last trip to Japan yet, and well, I might as well do it now. Why not? So, last May I visited Japan for the 3rd time, and it felt so natural and normal, like going back home. I still remembered all the routes and little streets, what trains to get and the right exits of the stations. The weather was lovely, sunny and warm. We first visited my bf’s grandparents house, which is this big old style Japanese house in the country side. It was so quiet there. We had walks at night and, although street lights were almost non-existent in the island, the moonlight only was enough to lit our way. It felt really peaceful.
I then made my way to big Tokyo, where I stayed with friends, went to gigs, ate a lot and spent a lot of money! Living the crazy life. I have a few more shots of Tokyo and the rest is Osaka and Kobe, which I will post some other time.
I basically only used my vintage Konica C35 during the trip and I was so glad with the results. I love shooting with film and this camera is my favourite and probably the cheapest (out of the 5 vintage film cameras I own, haha), it never lets me down and I get results even with the worst light or focus. It is light and compact, so I can carry it in my pocket, if I feel like it. I did not retouch these photos at all, except to add the watermark and round the corners, no need for any other touches, that is the beauty of film photography!

Roman Holiday

Last June we've been to Rome! It was a first for me and I fell completely in love with this small city. Although we stayed only 3 days, it was blissful and I was so happy that I still get a smile on my lips just to think about it :) I do not understand what's the big deal over Paris... Honestly, Rome was for me all that Paris is supposed to be and isn't. The weather, the food, the streets, the people! I fell head over heels for the historical capital.

My holiday was heavily "Roman Holiday" influenced, one of the cutest films ever, so for my 1st day I went for a blue pleated skirt, white shirt and striped neck scarf, haha. Just look at the buildings behind me on the first picture, they looked so much like Gregory Peck's place from the film! And that's where we were staying, in our friend's house in the heart of Rome, I was ecstatic! I also ate ice cream on the stairs and rode a bicycle in Rome! But I did not buy sandals or dance near the river, haha.

It was so much fun, I want to visit other parts of Italy next year.
